Cracking a joke about the now-infamous dollar sign in Ke$ha's name, 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards host Eva Longoria joked, "I'm not sure how you say her name in Euros." But as she assaulted the stage, it was clear the pop star wasn't joking at all.

For those who weren't keeping a tally, Ke$ha's performance did not lack enthusiasm or props. Lots of flashing lights: check. Bouncy balls and Day-Glo makeup: check, check. Lots of dancers that look like they grew up on Mars: That's another check.

Ke$ha stormed the EMA stage Sunday for a rendition of her hit song "Tik Tok" wearing a bedazzled leotard. She put a new spin on the song during its bridge, amping up the house-music vibe of the track. The performance came the same night she won the EMA for Best New Act.

Taking the stage to accept the award, the only one she was nominated for, Ke$ha expressed gratitude to fans for helping her beat out the likes of Justin Bieber, Jason Derülo and B.o.B.

"Oh my god! You guys, I'm gonna pee my pants!" she exclaimed, clutching the award.

"Thank you to my fans. My fans are badass," she continued. "I also want to thank my mom and my family, RCA, Dr. Luke and everyone who ever believed in me, but I could not have done this without my amazing, crazy, beautiful fans. Thank you so much. I make music for you, and hopefully I can inspire you guys to give the finger to the cynics and f---ing be yourself, so thank you so much."

The 2010 EMA show airs on MTV2 on Sunday (November 7) at 9 p.m. ET, and an edited, performance-heavy version will be broadcast Friday at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.

Britney Spears Remains Under Conservatorship

Conservatorship has been in place since February 2008.
By Jocelyn Vena

On Thursday (September 30), Britney Spears met with a judge in Los Angeles to discuss the current status of her conservatorship, which she has been under since February 2008.

TMZ reports that Judge Reva Goetz had requested a meeting with the pop star after the judge had discussed ending the conservatorship with Spears' lawyers at the last few status meetings.

Spears' father, Jamie Spears, was also present in the judge's chambers during the progress meeting. He left the courtroom minutes after Britney, who wore a black dress and black ankle boots.

It was decided that Spears would remain under her conservatorship, according to TMZ. The judge took the stand to announce: "At this time, all orders will remain in full force and effect." The decision came after she met with Spears and her father individually. The judge did give the OK to approve "investment strategies" for Britney's trust; a petition had been filed regarding that matter.

While there seems to be no change in Spears' personal life, she has certainly been a force to be reckoned with since she released her 2008 album Circus. She's managed to once again top the charts, mount a successful tour and even try her hand at acting. This week alone she brought some star power to "Glee," which tackled her hit-filled catalog, including "Me Against the Music."

Much has been rumored about what Spears is working on as far as a follow-up to Circus. After it was reported that Spears might release new music sometime this year, her manager, Adam Leber, was quick to clear the air.

"No new music news right now....Wish people wouldn't mislead you guys with BS info," he wrote on Twitter in August. "Not cool! PS- The guys that ARE working on Brit's next album ARE NOT talking about it..."

Dimmu Borgir Release Live DVD; Plus Led Zeppelin, Brujeria, & More News That Rules, In Metal File

'It shows the intense live side of the band, as opposed to the perfection and the cleanness of how we sound on our albums,' guitarist says.
By Chris Harris

On October 14, Dimmu Borgir — who just happen to be Demi Lovato's favorite black-metal band — will release a a three-disc DVD/CD set called "The Invaluable Darkness," the band's first visual offering since 2002's "World Misanthropy." Boasting live footage shot last year, during gigs in Norway, Germany and England, "The Invaluable Darkness" demonstrates the unbridled furor of seeing Dimmu live, guitarist Silenoz said.

"It shows the honest rawness and atmospheric darkness of our concerts," the Norwegian told Metal File last week, after dismissing recent online rumors that his band's next LP would be coming out through Roadrunner Records. "Basically, it shows the intense live side of the band, as opposed to the perfection and the cleanness of how we sound on our albums. It's just a different side to the band, basically."

Dimmu Borgir began thinking about "The Invaluable Darkness" two years ago, but didn't start capturing footage until last summer, Silenoz explained, adding that the band will use its current stint on the Blackest of the Black Tour — which got underway Thursday night in Miami Beach, Florida, and also features the tour's founder, Danzig, along with Moonspell, Winds of Plague and Skeletonwitch — to promote the DVD. Dimmu Borgir will not, however, use the tour to write material for their next LP.

"It's our first time on Blackest, but Glenn [Danzig] had wanted to bring us out before [on the tour], but we weren't available until now," Silenoz said. "We've done Ozzfest before, but we're looking forward to this tour more. We did the main stage on Ozzfest, playing in f--_ing broad daylight. This tour will let us play in bigger places, but at the same time showcase more of what the band's about, visually. We are going to concentrate on the tour for now. Some years ago, we tried putting [material] together on the road, but once we got home, we listened back to it, and were like, 'What the f--- is this?' So, we just scrapped it all. We find it's so much better to totally focus on one thing at a time, and then, when that's over, you move on to the next [thing]. We don't really feel like we need to rush things, anyway, so we'll just take our time, and it's going to be what it's going to be."

Dimmu Borgir hope to reconvene in late December to begin writing the follow-up to 2007's diabolically titled In Sorte Diaboli. "We have some ideas floating around already, but we haven't arranged any material yet," he said. "We'll start doing that once the touring for this DVD is over." The band's frontman, Shagrath, is also due to marry soon — he's engaged to actor Nicolas Cage's ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, so that may have an effect on when Dimmu finish their next album, which Silenoz said could be out this coming spring.

"I'm sure [Shagrath] won't let anything get in the way [of] the band — I think, I hope," the guitarist said. "We don't need a Yoko [Ono] situation."

While Dimmu have been at it going on 15 years now, Silenoz said he doesn't think their forthcoming material will be much of a departure from their previous black-metal offerings.

"And we have always been about more than just that term, 'black metal,' " he said. "Luckily for us, the older you get, the less concerned you get with the categorization and putting labels on your music. Things start getting more and more limitless with us, and we know that we operate within certain frames. But we try not to analyze things too much, because it's just going to be working against you in the end. When we write new stuff, we don't think about what we should write — we just get together, and put material together, and if we like it, we keep it. That's the formula, if we even have a formula."

Dimmu Borgir are definitely getting older — guitarist Galder will be missing Blackest because of a recent addition to his family, and Susperia's Cyrus will be filling in for him; while former Vader drummer Dariusz Brzozowski takes over for Hellhammer, who had to leave the band in 2007 after sustaining a neck injury that's now limited the use of his right arm. As Dimmu has gotten on in years, Silenoz admits they have failed to keep pace with some of the more extreme black-metal acts that have followed in their wake.

"We helped open doors for the more extreme bands out there," Silenoz said. "I'm sure we helped open doors for bands like Watain, [insomuch as] people that had maybe started listening to us first then went on to the more extreme stuff. Let's face it — we're not as extreme as Watain and other bands like that, but we're fine with that."

The Blackest of the Black Tour continues through November 10 in San Francisco.

The rest of the week's metal news:

Dimmu's tourmates on Blackest, Winds of Plague, have announced ex-Azusa drummer Art Cruz has joined their ranks — he replaced Jeff Tenney. According to the band's blog, "Art has already added a new spark to the band and has provided us with a solid backbone that will allow us to continue our rampage stronger than ever." ...

What the world really needs is another Led Zeppelin box set, so, on November 4, Rhino Records will issue the Led Zeppelin Definitive Collection Mini LP Replica CD box set. For just $200, you'll get 1969's Led Zeppelin, 1969's Led Zeppelin II, 1970's Led Zeppelin III, 1971's Led Zeppelin IV, 1973's Houses of the Holy, 1975's Physical Graffiti, 1976's Presence, 1976's The Song Remains the Same, 1979's In Through the Out Door and 1982's Coda, as mini-LP replicas, with artwork from the original U.K. LP sleeves. Now, you know what you can get your dad for Christmas. ...

Former Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach and current Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz have teamed up for a new project they're calling Times of Grace, and they've already started working on material for their debut album. According to Leach, "We have two songs to go and we will be finished with all of the vocals. Adam has taken lead vocals in three songs as of yet and he is doing a great job. We also worked on a track yesterday that is so epic — we trade vocals and do two different melodies at the same time. This album went from a melodic metal album to an epic mix of metal/rock/pop/shoegaze and punk. So all of your metal expectations will be incorrect — we are pushing genre boundaries." To quote "Meet the Parents," we'll look forward to that, Greg. ...

The Funeral Pyre and Early Graves will be hitting the road together next month, starting November 7 in South Lake Tahoe, California. Dates are booked through November 21 in Hollywood. ...

The latest incarnation of Brujeria, which features Carcass frontman Jeff Walker and Napalm Death's Shane Embury, have lined up several U.S. dates for this winter. The band will begin its brief trek November 28 in Denver, and wrap things up in Dallas on December 7. ... Demiricous will be touring with the Gates of Slumber starting November 9 in Denver, for a jaunt that's scheduled to run through December 6 in Indianapolis. ...

Nearly three years after Roadrunner Records' Roadrunner United concert, which took over the Nokia Theater in New York's Times Square, the label is now releasing footage from that special night as "Roadrunner United: The Concert." The DVD, which hits stores December 9, will boast two discs and 24 live tracks, including Life of Agony's "River Runs Red," King Diamond's "Abigail," Killswitch's "My Last Serenade," Type O Negative's "Black No. 1" and Sepultura's "Refuse/Resist." ...

According to Blabbermouth, Verrot, bassist for Swedish black-metal outfit Elimi, committed suicide on October 3. In a statement, the band said, "Verrot was a very good friend, brother, an excellent bass player/musician and an important part of Elimi; we respect his decision and hope he'll find his way with the dark gods of Chaos. Let your black flame be a part of what brings forth the day of wrath."

'Harry Potter' Fans Weigh In On Harry And Hermione Topless Kiss

'They're totally topless and it's really creepy,' one uncomfortable fan says after midnight 'Deathly Hallows' screening.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Evan Leong

"Awkward," "creepy," "disturbing."

Those were among the words "Harry Potter" fans used to describe the rather unexpected and altogether hallucinatory kiss between Harry and Hermione in "Deathly Hallows."

Streaming out of a midnight screening with lightning-bolt scars drawn on their foreheads and clutching wands, "Potter"-ites were still reeling from that onscreen smooch.

"They're totally topless and it's really creepy," Emma Larson told MTV News.

That sentiment is not far from how Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, was feeling when she found out exactly what was in store for her scripted kiss.

"It was only the day before that they said, 'Oh, by the way, we hope it's all right, but we want you to be topless, and we're going to cover you in silver paint,' " the actress told us earlier this week. "It was awkward enough as it was without the silver paint and the strapless bra, but whatever. It works."

Others also agreed that it works. Itamar Lilienthal certainly did, calling the lip-locking "very erotic." Admitted Dustin Atlas, "I was a little jealous."

Some, however, were not digging the twist, which had Harry and Hermione swapping spit as part of their friend's jealous hallucination. "It was a little awkward," Jane Howe said. "It was not a natural kiss, and they were naked, which added a whole other aspect to it."

"It actually made me more uncomfortable," Chris McMahon said.

Many fans were simply unprepared to see Hermione showing affection to anyone other than Ron. But for some, the kiss was a chance to see, at long last, Harry and Hermione together, at least for a few seconds.

"That was pretty intense," said Hillary Brens. "I think a lot of fans wanting that relationship to happen — they finally got it."

Check out everything we've got on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1."

Justin Bieber, Lil Twist Will Leak Mixtape Track 'Real Soon'

Young Money MC says his project with Bieber may even become an EP.

Justin Bieber has already received the seal of approval of Kanye West, Ludacris and Drake. And he impressed many with a video in which he raps over Vado and Cam'ron's "Speaking in Tungs" last month. Now Bieber is taking the next step to proving his crossover potential: working on a mixtape with of Young Money rapper and fellow teen Lil Twist.

"Me and Justin are working on this mixtape," Twist confirmed to MTV News. "We probably gonna title it Best of Both Worlds, [or] Best of Young Rap, Best of Young Pop. We got a few records done. The recent record that was talked about was 'Billionaire.' We did 'Billionaire' by Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars. We gonna get ready to leak that out. We're gonna leak something real soon."

Any further details about when more music from the twosome might drop is still very TBD. "I don't have the date on the mixtape yet, because we're still working hard on it," the MC explained. "We're trying to get new beats, because now, like, some of the beats [that we've used] are old. ... So we're gonna get new beats and go back in and try and make an EP."

The idea of the two working on some music together was really an idea Bieber came up with, Twist explained. "Me and Justin, we actually met through a mutual friend and after that we got real cool actually," he recalled. "[We] started working in the studio, sending stuff through the Mac book and everything. And then he was like, 'Yo, bro, we should do a mixtape. Let's go.' We just started then."

Beyonce's Banned Perfume Ad Defended By Company

The spot is 'intended to reflect the singer Beyoncé's personal 'sexy chic' style,' says fragrance maker Coty.
By Jocelyn Vena

Beyoncé in her ad for Heat

Beyoncé's steamy new ad for her perfume, Heat, recently gathered some heat of its own from the U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority — which banned the commercial from the country's daytime TV rotation because of its sexy imagery. Now the company that makes Heat is speaking out about the sanction brought against the ad, which features the singer in a skin-tight, hot-red satin minidress, touching herself and showing some skin.

In a statement from perfume maker Coty that was posted on AceShowbiz.com, the company notes that it doesn't think there's anything too explicit about the TV spot, maintaining that it is "intended to reflect the singer Beyoncé's personal 'sexy chic' style." And while Beyoncé's cleavage is exposed at certain parts of the commercial, Coty added that it's not "overtly graphic or explicitly sexual and at no point was Beyoncé naked."

The company continued, "It was aimed at a vast selection of music programs to target a young adult audience. It would therefore be consistent with the expectations of viewers of those sorts of programs."

In a statement posted on its website, the advertising watchdog said that it has received several complaints about the Jake Nava-directed spot, which initially was aired throughout the day during family programming and now only will be shown after 7:30 p.m. The organization said, "We considered that Beyoncé's body movements and the camera's prolonged focus on shots of her dress slipping away to partially expose her breasts created a sexually provocative ad that was unsuitable to be seen by young children."

Do you think Beyoncé's commercial is too sexy to air in the day? Tell us in the comments!

Carmelo Anthony Says He Couldn't Do Anything Without Education

'I had to take care of school, and then everything else just fell in place,' NBA phenom reminds kids at Get Schooled event.
By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Jeff Schneider

Carmelo Anthony
Photo: MTV News

Carmelo Anthony's mesmerizing moves on the court wouldn't be possible without one key factor — and it's not just putting in extra work at practice.

"Without education, I couldn't really do nothing," Anthony told MTV News at a Get Schooled event at Denver's George Washington High School, which was also attended by Ludacris, indie MC Saigon and 'Melo's wife La La Vazquez. "Without my grades, I couldn't really play ball, I couldn't really hang out. I had to take care of school, and then everything else just fell in place."

The Denver Nuggets forward insisted that anybody who wants to score success should use a strong educational background as their jumping-off point.

"Education should be first in everybody's agenda. I think high school and just education gets you prepared for the real world," 'Melo maintained.

As challenging as homework may be, the megastar baller said making a mark outside of the classroom is a lot harder.

"All the subjects that you think is hard right now in high school, trust me, it gets harder out there in the real world," he explained. "So this is where it starts, this is the stepping-stone."

Anthony said he enjoyed his face time with the high-schoolers at the event and dreamed big about taking the project to the next level.

"I think Get Schooled probably, for me, is one of the best programs that I've been involved in — and I'm not just saying that because I'm on here," Anthony said. "Just for the simple fact that we get a chance to hear from young kids what's going on in their mind and their life and what can they do to better their education.

"I wish that we could just do it on a much bigger scale. Hopefully we can just grow the tour to 20 cities next time," he continued. "And not just have us come out there and talk, but actually showing the statistics and the videos, just everything that goes along with it."

Stay tuned to MTV News for more information about how you can get the president to speak at your commencement celebration at the end of this school year. Get Schooled is a national program aimed at increasing high school and college graduation rates and promoting the importance of education, developed by Viacom in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

'American Idol' Moving To New Night

The Fox hit will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning January 19.
By Mawuse Ziegbe

Photo: FOX

As its tenth season nears, "American Idol" continues to shake things up.

Fox announced on Friday that in January the amateur-talent juggernaut will now air on Wednesdays and Thursdays after launching from a Tuesday-night slot for years. According to the network's 2010 to 2011 midseason schedule, Tuesdays will lead with "Glee" at 8 p.m., followed by "Raising Hope" and a new sitcom "Mixed Signals."

The lineup change is the latest in a slew of revamps to the Fox hit. The buzzed-about judges' panel was completely overhauled and now includes Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler alongside "Idol" veteran Randy Jackson. The minimum age limit was also lowered to 15. In addition, the show will no longer whittle down the finalists from 24 to 12, and instead just introduce a dozen singers for fans to vote for. Tenth-season hopefuls will also be tasked with crafting memorable visuals as part of a brand new music video competition.

Lythoe has dished on how Tyler and Lopez are approaching their new gigs, praising them for their serious take on the job. He also added that longtime critic Jackson is stepping up his game and providing pithy insight.

"Randy is pulling his weight," Lythgoe said recently. "He really has stepped up. He's essentially come out of himself. He's enjoying being in that position."

Lopez has also said that next season with show will be more forgiving with auditioners, and try not to let panicky nerves get in the way of recognizing a talented hopeful.

"I don't want to let anybody really great [not make it through] because they're nervous, and not get to see what they could have did," Lopez said in September. "They're going to come in here and be a little bit nervous in the beginning, and then you realize, 'Wow, that person is really talented.' So we work them a little bit more than maybe you've seen in the past. We've given them more of a chance."

Get your "Idol" fix on MTV News' "American Idol" page, where you'll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.

Usher's VMA Performance Proves He's Still King: Making The Show

Singer held back at rehearsals, harnessing his energy for Sunday's show.

The King is back!

Usher thrilled the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night with his stunning combination performance of "OMG" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love."

The singer moved and grooved, proving that he's the R&B star that everyone pays attention to for the big moments.

After a lukewarm reception to his previous album, the singer busted back onto the charts and radio with his latest set, Raymond v. Raymond, and he's been proving doubters wrong since its release.

"We all sat in a room and came up with a concept for the stage, and then we took that concept to Usher," VMA executive producer Dave Sirulnick told MTV News about the star's setup. "We said to him, 'We want to do the best televised dance routine that you've done in years. Let's show why you're the king.' "

Usher handily delivered.

Durng his rehearsals he was as focused as Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant on the eve of game seven for the championship.

His choreographer led the way with Usher's backup dancers while the "OMG" star looked on intently; he only jumped in a handful of times, instead choosing to harness his energy for Sunday night's big show.

The crooner has ruled the charts in the past with a mix of uptempo grooves and slow-burning ballads.

But Usher has reinvented himself this year with the will.i.am dance tune "OMG" and his latest single, "DJ Got Us Falling in Love."

Usher plays to win, and after his stirring performance it's clear that the crown still rests securely on his head.

The Moonmen have all been handed out and the stars have gone home, but there's plenty of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards news, interviews, behind-the-scenes scoop, party reports and more still to come, so keep it locked on MTVNews.com.

'Harry Potter' Star Emma Watson Says Mom And Mia Farrow Inspired Haircut

'I took in a picture of Mia Farrow and was like, 'I want to look like this,' ' actress says.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Emma Watson had been wanting to chop all her hair off for years, but her decade-long commitment to "Harry Potter" required her to resemble a long-haired witch rather than a close-cropped pixie.

As soon as production on "Deathly Hallows," the two-part "Harry Potter" series finale, wrapped earlier this year, the 20-year-old Brit took a trip to the salon. The stylish results have been on full display as she works the publicity circuit on both sides of the Atlantic. In a recent conversation with MTV News, Watson revealed that the inspiration behind the new look has both familial and cinematic roots.

"My mother has this haircut and this has been her signature look since she was, like, 16. I just always thought it was really cool and wanted to try it," Watson told MTV News. "When I went in to my hairdresser, I took in a picture of Mia Farrow and was like, 'I want to look like this.' " Little did she know how shocking the new 'do would become. "I can't believe how much of a stir this haircut caused. It's pretty nuts," she said. "The haircut has been a big deal."

And it's been a long time coming. Watson's hair simply hadn't been her own since she joined the franchise as Hermione Granger at the turn of the millennium. She would have had to ask permission to get her locks trimmed — and she knew Warner Bros. would never OK such a drastic makeover.

"I never even asked," the actress said. "I just knew it wasn't an option. Hermione is famous for this long, bushy brown hair, so I had to stick with it."

Now she views her new look as a sign that she's embarked on a new chapter in her life. "I needed a change when 'Potter' was done, so I was like, this will be it to mark the new phase in my life," she said.

Check out everything we've got on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1."

'Deathly Hallows' Kiss Got Daniel Radcliffe In 'Trouble' With Emma Watson

'It was vigorous,' Radcliffe tells MTV News of the Harry/Hermione make-out session.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Photo: Warner Bros.

Emma Watson will be the first to admit that her kiss with Daniel Radcliffe in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" is a seriously passionate one.

"It is full-on," she recently told MTV News. "Actually, I forgot how full-on it was until I saw the movie, and I was like, 'Blimey, where did that come from?' "

Full-on it may have been, but that doesn't mean she wants her co-star going around gushing about the intense onscreen experience.

"I've just been getting into so much trouble with Emma about this, because apparently I said in an interview that she was like an animal," Radcliffe told us. "I thought it was going to be a kind of a slow, sensual thing, and Emma really went for it."

The scene takes place rather late in the film, when Ron (Rupert Grint) is in the midst of fighting off a darkly magical Horcrux that manifests hallucinations of his greatest fears — one being the prospect of Harry (Radcliffe) and Hermione (Watson) making out. Ron watches in horror as his two pals, naked and covered in silver glitter, swap a whole lot of spit.

"It was kind of weird. It is a bit like kissing your sister," Radcliffe admitted. "I'm not complaining! It was good. It was vigorous."

He added, "For me, I wasn't too freaked out. But it's a bigger deal for Emma. I think it generally is a bigger deal for girls."

The scene was just one in which Radcliffe had to strip down to his skivvies. Early on, in an attempt to escape some Death Eaters, the Order of the Phoenix hatches a plan to create, via a nifty potion, multiple versions of Harry — all of whom then have to strip down and dress in Potter's duds. Later, Harry doffs his clothes and dives into a freezing pond to fetch the Horcrux. In short, there's a whole lot of nudity going on.

"I'm just continually stripping in this film," Radcliffe laughed. "[J.K. Rowling] said to me, when she came to see 'Equus' [a play in which he stripped naked], 'I'm going to write you naked in the seventh film now.' I said, 'That's a joke!' And she did!"

Check out everything we've got on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1."

Justin Bieber Working On Mixtape With Lil Twist

'Justin's a rapper now, so he's gonna be goin' in,' the Young Money MC teases about return of Shawty Mane.

Justin Bieber already showed fans his fledgling MC skills as Shawty Mane. Now the Biebs may be donning his rap cap again, according to Lil Twist. The Young Money rapper says he's working on a mixtape with the pop star.

"It's in the works," Twist told Neon Limelight. "We got a few records done, and every time we talk, we actually talk about this mixtape."

So what will fans find on the mixtape?

"We recently did 'Billionaire' by Travis McCoy and Bruno Mars," Twist explained. "We did that over with our own words, like a remix. That's how we're gonna do the majority of the mixtape, with other people's records and just me freestyling over it. And Justin's a rapper now, so he's gonna be goin' in."

Bieber has said he's open to playing Shawty Mane again. "I thought it was fun, I like rapping," Bieber recently told MTV News. "Maybe in the future, Shawty Mane will come back.

The singer also recalled how he came up with the name for his MC alter ego. "I don't know, me and my friends were just messing around and they were like, 'Shawty Mane,' and I was like, 'Yeah, that'll be my nickname.' Shawty Mane is just like a funny character. You know, Justin Bieber is not a rapper, and it would just be lame if I came out rapping. It's lame anyway because I'm like a pop singer, but I thought it was funny, I just did it as a joke. It wasn't like anything serious."

What do you think about Justin and Lil Twist working on a mixtape? Let us know in the comments!

Ke$ha 'Blows Some Stuff Up' For 'We R Who We R' Video

Good-time girl says video for her first Cannibal single is 'a little bit sexy time.'
By James Montgomery

Photo: Eric Ford/On Location News

By now, you've no doubt downloaded the song and gazed longingly at photos from the set of the video. But despite all of that, you probably still have no idea what to expect from Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" clip.

And neither did we ... so when MTV News caught up with Ke$ha backstage at the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid, we decided to ask her for a quick synopsis of the video, the first she's releasing off her upcoming Cannibal repack. And from the sound of things, the clip is probably going to get a rise out of certain folks.

"This video is a little bit 'sexy time,' I'm not gonna lie, it may induce a boner or two," Ke$ha laughed. "I'm not sure, [you'll have to] report back. But I'm hoping for at least one."

We'll definitely let you know. Anyway, aside from all that sexiness, there's another aspect to the "We R" video that Ke$ha is equally excited about: the sheer amount of explosions she managed to pack into the thing.

"[For] this video, I kinda thought, 'I should be blowing things up,' " she smiled. "So we closed down downtown Los Angeles and, I mean, I'm not going to give away all of it, but I do blow some stuff up."

Sweet. And if small outfits and large-caliber explosives aren't enough to compel you to watch, well, Ke$ha still has one more trick up her sleeve for the "We R" video: There's gonna be plenty of beer on hand, too.

"Look, it's got bombs, boners, babes, boobs and beer ... always beer," she said. "What more do you want?"

Are you looking forward to Ke$ha's new video? Let us know in the comments!

'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows': 10 Best Cast Quotes

From Daniel Radcliffe on being short to Rupert Grint talking about his ice cream truck, these are our favorite quotes from the 'Harry Potter' cast.
By Eric Ditzian

We're gonna miss these kids.

Yes, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1" doesn't come out for another day, and "Part 2" will be coming down the line next year. But we're already starting to get nostalgic about those wizards and witches — folks we've come to know well over the past decade and who entertain us on and off the big screen.

At least we've been able to spend a lot of time with Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and their pals over the past year as they finished off the "Deathly Hallows" shoot and embarked on an international media tour. They've joked and laughed with us. They've opened up about the prospects of leaving behind a franchise that has been all-consuming for the past 10 years. They've even practiced their American accents with us.

Of all our chats with the actors, though, a few lines were especially memorable. Check out our 10 favorite quotes from the "Deathly Hallows" cast.

10. "They came up and said, 'How are you feeling? How are you doing?' And I couldn't find any words, and I just said, 'I just want you to know, I've had a really nice time.' And it was such a young, quite innocent, sweet thing to say, that I kind of caught myself off-guard. That was the moment when I suddenly had a lump in my throat and was like, 'OK, I'm really going to have to struggle to keep it together on the last shot,' which was a stunt, very simple, just jumping and rolling onto a map." — Daniel Radcliffe on his final day of shooting on the franchise

9. "I like my teeth. I had fake teeth. It's a beauty tip: Use fake teeth. The [teeth] plumped up my upper lip, which makes you look younger. It's like having collagen without having collagen because it makes the lip fuller. Always get false teeth." — Helena Bonham Carter on her character's makeup effects

8. "I drove it down on the last day and served ice cream to everyone. I haven't quite perfected the technique. It kind of came out in a jet." — Rupert Grint on the ice cream truck he rented to serve the cast and crew on the final day of production

7. "For nearly two months, we've all been doing prosthetic tests and all sorts of preparation for the epilogue. I've been having some aging training. You've got to walk differently. There's a slump in your walk. ... It's bizarre. We have a lovely guy who comes in. It was a little weird the first time — imagine you've got weights on your arms! There have been a number of times where I nearly laughed and I had to hold it in." — Tom Felton on preparing for the "Deathly Hallows" epilogue scene

6. "I was worried on a personal level because I wanted to be slightly taller than I am, ideally. But I've now accepted it. Basically, I came to the conclusion a while ago that you can either be really bitter about it or you can make loads of funny jokes." — Daniel Radcliffe on accepting the fact that he's short

5. "You have to embrace the totality of his evilness. He's like the devil." — Ralph Fiennes on playing Voldemort

4. "Basically, it amounted to the fact that she felt I had been very good in this 'Harry Potter' film, and as a reward for that, she wasn't going to make any more 'Harry Potter' [books]." — Daniel Radcliffe on a text message he received from J.K. Rowling

3. "I would have been public enemy #1, I think, if I hadn't continued. I did think about that." — Emma Watson on once considering quitting the franchise

2. "You know why I retweeted it, because you know that's the only list you'll ever see where I'm ahead of Robert Pattinson for something to do with sexiness, which is completely untrue and unfathomable, but I will take it in great stead." — Tom Felton on winning Hollywood Crush's Top 10 "Harry Potter" Hotties competition

1. "I don't know, take it off?" — Emma Watson on how she can convince 100 percent of fans to approve of her red carpet dress

Check out everything we've got on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1."

Mary J. Blige Dishes On Her 'Crazy' Led Zeppelin Covers

'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'

You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.

In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.

But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.

"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."

Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.

"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

Lady Gaga Cameo Rumored For 'Muppets' Movie

Plot of reboot is said to involve Miss Piggy ending up as Gaga-esque character.
By James Montgomery

She's already worn them and been escorted by them, so it makes sense that Lady Gaga now may be joining the Muppets, in a reboot of their long-running film series due in theaters next year.

This is according to Production Weekly, an industry publication that chronicles film and television projects in pre-production and development, which on Thursday tweeted that they were "hearing that [actors] Eric Stonestreet, John Krasinski and Ed Helms may be in Lady Gaga's entourage for 'The Muppets.' "

By logical extension, that would mean that Gaga herself could be filming a cameo for the movie. And it lends credence to earlier reports that "How I Met Your Mother" star Jason Segel — who is writing the script for the new "Muppets" movie — was basing the story line around the idea that "Miss Piggy ends up becoming like a Lady Gaga-esque character living in Europe."

A spokesperson for Lady Gaga did not respond to MTV News' request for comment on the matter, but if LG does show up in the new "Muppets" film, we expect a few scenes with Kermit the Frog, her date to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Their appearance on the red carpet — not to mention the smooch they shared — had gossipmongers whispering that the two were an item. But Kermit would later deny those rumors, telling People that he "just gave Lady Gaga a ride to the VMAs, and when [she] left her credentials in the limo, I had to bring them to her."

Of course, that angered Kermit's longtime beau Miss Piggy, which had some rather disastrous results. "After Lady Gaga and I were seen on the red carpet together, well ... Miss Piggy got a little jealous," Kermit said. "But I definitely did get a ride home — in the trunk!"

'Glee' Guest Darren Criss Hits #1 With 'Teenage Dream'

Katy Perry loves rendition, the first 'Glee' single to top digital sales chart.

Don't pinch yourself, because this isn't a dream: With 214,000 tracks sold, "Glee" guest star Darren Criss has scored a #1 hit with his rendition of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," which debuted at the top of the digital sales chart this week — the first "Glee" single to do so, according to a joint statement from Fox and Columbia Records.

The tune debuted during "Glee's" November 9 episode, "Never Been Kissed," in which Criss made his first appearance as an openly gay teen from rival glee club the Dalton Academy Warblers. Criss is accompanied on the track by the Tufts University Beelzebubs, who also did the arrangement.

Criss is humble about the track's success, giving credit to great collaborators and good timing.

"There's a couple of things that stack up in my favor, preceding any shenanigans I may or may not be adding to it," Criss told MTV News.

"First of all, it's a great song ... between Dr. Luke, Ben Levin, Bonnie McKee, Max Martin, Katy Perry — those are all pretty strong pop writers. A lot of props go to the Beelzebubs from Tufts University, who arranged the killer arrangement. And the song was attached to a new character that a lot of people had a lot of speculation about. I'm just the lucky guy that got to be sprinkled on top."

Perry, however, couldn't sing Criss' praise more loudly, telling Access Hollywood, "He's amazing! I love when any of my songs are remixed or interpreted differently. I just I love that. I really welcome a creative mind to anything." The singer had previously tweeted, "Oh...My...Gosh... this just brought a sweet tear to my eye! Teenage Dream on GLEE makes my heart go WEEEEE!"

Criss said the feeling is mutual. "She's been really sweet. Katy makes my heart 'go weeeee.' It's a great tune. I really lucked out that I got to sing that song. I mean, you've gotta sing what they give you."
